   Merry X-mas and Happy New Year from Scuba Nation Friday, January 02, 2009
Hi all.

We do apologize for lack of communication here on the blog. It is just that we have been so busy through this Christmas that we are still trying to catch our breaths...
We have been running back-to-back liveaboard trips and daytrips at the same time. We even had to put a 3rd boat in to cope with the demand for diving that we have met.

It will sound a bit like a ramble, we know, but everyone has earned the right to be mentioned....

Congratulations to:
Kristian, Miriam, Alexander, Vivienne, John, Thomas, Frederik, Suzanne, Tse Ming, Tse Ling, Wei Ying, Jebeka, Jeni, Yvonne, Raul, Brian and Jessica -on your Discover Scuba Diving Experience;
Jonna, Alain, Alex, Olivier, Mikael, Gabriela, Pablo, Joseph, Elyse, Stephane, Monique, Leighton, Rene, Candice, Amanda, Bill, Christopher, Apolonursz, Ryszard, Aleksandra, Paul, Matt, Tash, Carina, Ryan and Olga on finishing the Open Water Diver Course and National Geographics programs;
Mikael, Karl and Vinay on their achievements on the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Course;
And finally to Nicki who completed the Digital Under Water Photography Specialty Course...

We know you had fun so please spread the word....

And just to let you all know... -There is something special in celebrating New Year while diving... We had a great night dive starting in 2008 and finishing in 2009 on our NY-trip. The dive included visit from skindivers for New Years kisses and hovering up-side-down at midnight. After the dive we had a nice snak with cheese, sausages and a bit of champagne....

If you would like to join us in the new year for diving (especially at X-mas time) make sure to reserve your spaces well in advance...

All the best in the upcoming year to all of you...

   Upcoming Christmas-trips and other Sunday, December 14, 2008
Early seasonal greetings to you all...

We are now almost half way through the month of December and Christmas is knocking on the door...
-This also means that we have been spending the past week preparing boats and equipment for the busy times...
Just to remind you all. Most of our LiveAboard trips in the Christmas week are filling up fast. If you want to ensure a place on our boats to Koh Tang or Koh Rung Samloem make sure to check our Schedule and/or contact us now.

Staff-wise the shop will have a few changes in the near future. Jordyan has arrived and will be helping out for a while in the shop and on the boats as a DiveMaster.
We are sorry to see Sebastian leave, but sends him the best wishes for the future.
A few new and old friends will make their appearances here within the next week to help us taking care of divers and students.

The wind finally seems to have calmed down a bit and at this moment we have a group of divers out diving at Koh Tang. We look forward to hear the reports.

Best of wishes to all our divers in the past week -especially to:
Christine, Sebastien, Olivier and Benjamin for trying Discover Scuba Diving;
Anna, Stefanie, Jean-Luc, Shane, Barbara and Mathias on getting their Open Water Diver Certification;
-and to Soan who returned for his Advanced Open Water Course...

Best of luck to you all and hope you keep on diving...

As most of you are aware Scuba Nation Dive Centre are a GoEco operator, and for many years we have tried to do our part to create environmental awareness. We have just not been all that successful in letting the rest of the world know what we are up to. We will try to change that for the future.
As a general thing on our boats we have net-bags that can be used for trash-collection by certified divers that would like to help us make a difference while enjoying the diving on the coral reefs of Cambodia. We are also planning regular official clean-up days and have a few other projects that will be finalized in the near future.
Do watch this space for more information.

A merry X-mas and happy diving to you all...
   Airport blockage and dive schedules... Saturday, December 06, 2008
With recent events in the whole region we are happy to see life stating to return to normal.
The problems in Bangkok seems to slowly dissolve themselves and Suvarnbhumi Airport is back on schedule again.

Here at Scuba Nation we are looking forward to turism picking up again and, naturally, to the change in the weather that makes the winds quiet down a bit.

In the past week we had the pleasure of Maja and Marco -trying the Discover Scuba Diving Experience,
Helena, Andreas, Andrew and Ivan passed their Open Water Diver Course with bravour
-and finally Christel and Arjan that learned about Fish Identification and Navigation during their Advanced Open Water diver course...

Thanks to you all and also to all the Fundivers that came out in spite of the weather and took it all with a smile...

As we are getting closer to X-mas we do encourage you to also plan ahead with your diving adventures.
Please take a look at our schedule as the trips are starting to fill up...
Also take a look in our course section. The Christmas time might just be the time for you to further your training...
You will note that we now have an almost complete list of the PADI Specialties with a brief explanation as they are available here at Scuba NAtion.

As always, if in doubt or you need more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Safe diving to you all....

PADI Scuba Diving Tips of The Day » It may sound hippy hype, but you can enhance your buoyancy through visualization. Mentally rehearse the performance you want (ideally -gliding through the water stream-lined and horizontal and breathing with perfect buoyancy control!) then try to make your buoyancy on the real dive match the dive that you imagined. Multiple studies show that mental practice improves performance – give it a try (and you don’t have to let anyone know you’re doing it!).
