PADI Scuba Diving Tips of The Day » When night diving you really want to dive with 2 lights – a primary and a backup. You should have a big bright, wider beam light as your primary and a more compact light as a backup. The primary should be secured by a lanyard and held in your right hand (to allow the left hand to inflate and deflate the BCD), and you can clip your backup to your BCD or tuck it in the BCD pocket.
